On Saturday April 28th, I was donating discarded blankets at a no-kill shelter and saw a heart-wrenching site. Lying helpless on the floor was Sadie. She had been shot in the head and hip, shortly after having puppies. She was found and brought here. None of the puppies were found. Sadie struggled to raise herself up by her two good front legs and begged from my attention, her hind legs lay lifeless on the floor behind her. She wagged her tail with excitement knowing this was it. This was her last chance to shine and find someone to help her. She kept her eyes focused on me as she pleaded for my attention.Without a second thought, I adopted her immediately, carried her to my car and sought immediate medical attention. The findings? The bullet in her forehead did not penetrate her skull, she could not stand, her legs were withered, the one rear leg with the bullet and shrapnel, dangled, she was malnourished, underweight, and she was incontinent. We followed the vet's recommendations and started Sadie's therapy immediately. Sadie and I are committed to 5-6 hours per day of therapy, supplements, super-nutritious food, and swim therapy.  One hind leg may need amputation and the other hind leg needs much strengthening and rehabilitation. Sadie is such a joy. I love her. She’s been through so much pain. I believe Sadie deserves a second chance and I am going to insure she gets that chance.Already Sadie has responded well to the love and therapy. After one week, Sadie actually hopped 20 steps on three legs. After the second week Sadie urinated on her own. At the third week Sadie went into heat-this proves her body is responding to living again and functioning.Sadie saw the surgeon this week – the third week. We will continue building her up with special food and therapy 5-6 hours per day, for the next two months. Then we will visit the surgeon again. We are overjoyed! Sadie is responding to all the love and therapy she is getting.Sadie wants to live and she has a future but only if you and I care enough to help. Please prove the power of love and prayer.  Here is my plea to you:

  1. Please pray daily for Sadie and send her love. Please continue this daily.
  2. Please help Sadie by contributing to her treatments.
  3. Please forward this to everyone you can.
